ABOUT

A Brief History

Sports Ground Services was formed in 1999 by Richard Bryce who still runs the company today. The company started with a few sites and now holds contracts at many middle and secondary schools, football clubs and cricket clubs in and around Milton Keynes. Most notably we have held the contract for Campbell Park cricket ground since its inception, the only first class cricket ground in Milton Keynes, which has played host to some of the world’s elite players such as Sir Viv Richards, Shane Warne, Courtney Walsh, Steve Waugh and Jacques Kallis to name but a few.

We pride ourselves on the high quality of work that we achieve and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all our clients as well as being able to offer very competitive prices.

Staff

Our relatively small team of highly experienced operatives are well trained and highly motivated. All of our previous staff have gained employment at some of the country’s most prestigious venues such as Trent Bridge, The County Ground (Northampton), Stamford Bridge and Stadium:mk.

In 2014 Dean Bryce (Son of Richard) was recognised nationally by winning ‘IOG Toro Most Promising Sportsturf Student of the Year’ at the Institute Of Groundsmanship industry awards, beating other young groundsmen from some of the most prestigious sporting venues in the country to the award. This subsequently led to an article in ‘the Groundsman’ magazine titled ‘Dean Bryce: a model student’ which was published in March 2015.

In 2011 Pitchcare magazine wrote an article about Sports Ground Services, please click the link below and have a read.
